Welcome
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Veteran's Notes website. Here you can purchase a print or digital copy of the book Veteran's Notes: Bloggery of an Iraq War Vet, or learn more about the book by watching a video or taking a sneak peek at the ebook edition. Also, learn more about the author, buy suggested & cited materials via the Amazon associate store, or find other works by the author on this site. Visitors are also encouraged to leave a comment, make a suggestion, write a review, or make a donation. Your support and input help to keep independent writers in business and the self-publishing industry alive and well. Self-publishing allows writers to more easily express their creativity, while also making it easier to document new perspectives on life, in turn giving more people the chance to document a broader and often more accurate historical record for future generations to learn from. Your support is essential in this process.
About the Book
On March 19, 2003 the U.S. military launched one of the most massive land invasions in the history of warfare. Ten years later many of the same American soldiers and Marines who served during that invasion are now missing limbs, dead from suicide, medicated for psychological disorders, unemployed, or struggling with little income and piles of debt.
Veterans Notes explains these issues through the eyes of Scott Albright, a former Marine who was deployed twice to Iraq during his time in service from 2000-2004.
Read Scott's notes, thoughts, newspaper articles, and blog posts to learn about important domestic and foreign policy issues involving information operations, humanitarian assistance, approaches to peace, and veterans health & education. Veterans Notes provides a unique perspective on issues soldiers face after serving in war zones and then returning to "normal" civilian life shortly after. Scott brings those issues home so readers can better understand America's heroes and make the changes necessary to prevent future conflicts from occurring.
