About The Author
Scott Albright served as an infantryman in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2000 to 2004, during which time he was deployed twice to Iraq and once out to sea in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After exiting the service Scott returned to his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico and enrolled in classes at the University of New Mexico where he studied international politics and journalism. Scott received his bachelor's degree in political science in 2007 and upon graduation moved to the northern part of the state where he worked as a newspaper reporter for the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle. In 2008 he moved back to central New Mexico where he worked for another newspaper - The Independent. In December 2009 Scott moved to Hilo, Hawaii to begin his studies in the China-U.S. Relations graduate program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Scott received his master's degree in 2012 after completing his thesis titled Demilitarizing Space: How Media and Nonstate Powers Can Restrain U.S. and PRC Military Activities in Outer Space. Scott currently resides in Albuquerque, NM where he works as a part-time freelance writer, website manager, and researcher. He manages and operates the blog Military Talk Shop and the website globalpublicgoods.net, while also working as a full-time dad and husband. Scott plans to continue his graduate studies in international relations and media studies in the near future, but is currently taking a break to help take care of his kids.
